I have always had a keen interest in publications, and each magazine production reflects both my interest in linear printed narrative, and the technical skills involved: designing a meaningful visual aesthetic, managing image content, coherent flow, accurate copy, finished art management and liasing with printers
The Healing Times Magazine is distributed throughout the Northern Rivers. I have been the sole designer since the launch issue. We are now up to Issue 21 with a distribution of 7000 (an increase from 4000 for Issue 1). It's a free magazine funded by advertising & distributed in cafes, bookstores, yoga centres and health food stores throughout the Northern Rivers of NSW, and available for viewing online. The look at feel is folksy and funky grassroots. The target market is those practicing or open to an 'alternative' lifestyle.
